Send a News Tip
Last updated
Some of the most important stories start with a reader who knows something others do not. If you have information about a company, a market, a regulator or an economy in Asia that you think the public should know, we want to hear from you.
What makes a good tip
- Be specific. Tell us what happened, who was involved, when and where.
- Say how you know. Explain whether you saw it yourself, heard it from someone else or found it in a document.
- Point us to evidence. Documents, filings, data or other people who can confirm the information help us check it.
- Tell us about timing. If something is about to happen, such as a deal, a filing or a decision, say when.
We check every tip independently before we publish anything based on it. Not every tip leads to a story, and we cannot pay for information.
How we protect sources
We do not publish a source's identity without that person's consent. If you ask us not to name you, we will not name you. Your tip is shared inside Capital Times only with the people who need it to report the story.
Our Ethics Policy sets out how we treat sources and when we use information from people who are not named.
A word on security
Email is not fully secure. Messages can be read by your employer, your email provider or others with access to your accounts or devices. Please keep this in mind before you write to us.
If you are concerned, avoid using a work computer, work phone, work email account or work network. Send only what you need to, and do not include details that identify you unless you are comfortable doing so.
