Ownership & Funding
Last updated
Readers should know who is behind the news they read and who pays for it. This page sets that out.
Who publishes Capital Times
Capital Times is published by [legal company name], [registered address].
The editor in chief is [editor in chief's name] and the publisher is [publisher's name]. Our Masthead explains how the newsroom is organized.
How we are funded
Capital Times is funded by advertising. That includes display advertising on the site and sponsorship of our newsletters. Some display ads are served by Google AdSense.
We do not charge readers. There is no paid subscription: reading the site, creating an account and receiving our newsletters are all free.
Editorial independence
Decisions about what we cover and how we cover it are made by our editors.
- Investors. No outside investor has any influence over our editorial decisions.
- Owners. The owners' other business interests have no say over our coverage.
- Advertisers. Advertisers cannot buy coverage, do not see articles before publication and have no influence over what we report. Sponsored content is always labeled and is never written by the newsroom.
Disclosure of owners' interests
The owners of Capital Times have other business interests. When we report on a company, organization or matter connected to those interests, we disclose the connection in the article.
Owners are also bound by the trading and disclosure rules in our Ethics Policy. They may not trade securities that Capital Times is writing about around publication, and they must disclose relevant holdings to the editor in chief.
If this changes
If the ownership of Capital Times or the way it is funded changes, we will update this page and note the date of the change.
